Pastor JR Gurley, a Hampton Roads native, began his ministerial journey at the age of 13. After surviving a life-altering accident caused by a drunk driver—an event in which he was the sole survivor—Pastor JR experienced a profound calling that led him into full-time ministry.

For over 24 years, Pastor JR has faithfully served as a full-time pastor in Newport News, Virginia, becoming a trusted voice and leader within the community. His service extends beyond the pulpit, having also worked as an Auxiliary Law Enforcement Officer, Community Organizer, Political Consultant, and Campaign Manager, giving Pastor JR a unique and practical understanding of faith, leadership, and civic responsibility.

Pastor JR currently resides in Newport News, Virginia, where he serves as the Director of the LivingStone House of Prayer. The LivingStone House of Prayer is dedicated to Biblical teaching, intentional discipleship, cultivating a culture of prayer and worship, advancing world missions, and providing crisis response during times of need.

In these roles, Pastor JR actively supports Pro-Life and Pro-Family causes, Christian missions, and organizations committed to Biblical social justice, fighting human trafficking, and ending abortion. Through this ministry, Pastor JR is committed to awakening hearts to truth, strengthening the Church, and equipping believers to live out their faith with clarity, courage, compassion with a Biblical Worldview.
